Another working week begins with SLB Director, Sharon, on an early morning train out of Leeds headed to Kings Cross. First up, she had a meetings at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing (of which she is a council member) followed by Creative Head’s Coterie Event where she networked with Premier Hair and Makeup’s Helen Lisle-Taylor, Vogue’s Nicola Moulton, BeautyMART’s Sarah Guild, make-up artist Liz Pugh and hairdresser and owner of Stil, Christel Lundqvist amongst others.
We were in a musical kinda mood on Tuesday morning which started with this interview in The Independent with Business Development Manager Jen’s husband, discussing his band’s new video release. It led to a discussion about our office soundtrack and how the songs we love can define us, as an agency as a group of friends. Before long work began on our Spotify playlist ‘Now that’s what I call SLB’. For two weeks we will play random Spotify playlists – hello “Australia Day #TBT” – and every time the office unanimously agrees a song it’s added. Playlist coming soon…
Celebrations at SLB HQ leads us to pop open the bottle of Champagne we’ve been saving since Christmas… And not that we’re the type of team that grasses on our co-workers but one member of the senior team even broke from Dry January to join in the toasts. Expect an announcement soon!
That evening SLB Account Manager, Sam, was invited to celebrate Burns Night with Crafthouse’s Executive Chef, and proud Scot, Lee Murdoch. Bagpipes, a Scottish themed tasting menu – with highlights such as 24 carrot cured loch fine salmon, crispy Kobi leaf Orkney beef tartar, Highland roe deer and deep fried mars bar – and paired with Chivas Regal Scotch Whisky. Rabbie Burns would have been proud. Slainte!
Appointments, press releases and a conference call, plus a chance to catch up on this week’s coverage reports. Luckily the day flew by as we had a date to get ready for… The opening of Leeds’ new Super Casino at Victoria Gate!
“There’s nothing like a reconnaissance mission to get us in a creative mood” we say as the senior team pile into Sharon’s Mini Cooper for a trip to Nottingham. We ended a busy day of research and a week full of wins with team beers over fried chicken. What a week!
